Step 1: Cut a rectangular piece of fabric. 26"
(along the tape in the picture, but 2" more than the circumference
of the head you are fitting. I use 25" for adults and 22"
for children and it seems to fit many people. The stretchy side
of the fabric should be the width in the picture.
Step 2: Fold up the bottom of the fabric to about 16"
and sew across.
Step 3: Fold length-wiseand, wrong-side out. Sew starting
3 inches from the end and stop 3 inches before the other end.
Step 4: Cut 1/2 inch in where you started sewing the doubled
end.
Step 5: Turn rightside out, sew doubled portion of the last
3 inches. Cut off the excess material up to the cut from Step
4.
Step 5: Turn the doubled part into a brim. Cut parallel strips
along single edge. Tie with a thin strip of lefover material.
